{"id":42,"date":"2011-10-11T00:37:26","date_gmt":"2011-10-11T00:37:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/andyphoto.atug.com\/index.php\/the-best-case-for-the-fuji-x100\/"},"modified":"2026-10-22T23:49:38","modified_gmt":"2026-10-22T23:49:38","slug":"the-best-case-for-the-fuji-x100","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/andyphoto.atug.com\/index.php\/the-best-case-for-the-fuji-x100\/","title":{"rendered":"The best case for the Fuji x100"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Fuji x100 camera is meant to be carried around everywhere &#8211; and for that you need to use the straps supplied, or get yourself a case. &#8220;The official leather case is nice, but I prefer something more discreet that I can carry on my belt under my jacket.<\/p>\n<p>After looking at all the cases in all the photo shops in Melbourne I couldn&#8217;t find anything that met my criteria. &#8220;The case had to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be as small as possible<\/li>\n<li>easily attach to any belt &#8211; without having to thread the belt through anything etc.<\/li>\n<li>have zips &#8211; I really wanted something secure so that the camera wouldn&#8217;t fall out as I bent over etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I finally found the perfect case at a high end photographic shop in the suburbs &#8211; its a ThinkTank modular pouch:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_311\" style=\"width: 193px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/andyphoto.atug.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/11-10-2011-12-31-21-AM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-311\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-311\" title=\"thinktank modular pouch\" src=\"https:\/\/andyphoto.atug.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/11-10-2011-12-31-21-AM-183x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"183\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-311\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">I carry my x100 around in this<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more-->There is a tongue on the back of the case which attaches to your belt. &#8220;One end of the tongue can be pulled away from the strong velcro underneath the case, slipped through any belt and re velcro&#8217;d in seconds. &#8220;Neat, Fast, Flexible and Safe.<\/p>\n<p>You can see how the Fuji x100 slips nicely into this case<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_308\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/andyphoto.atug.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/thinktank-case-for-fuji-11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-308\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-308\" title=\"thinktank case for fuji\" src=\"https:\/\/andyphoto.atug.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/thinktank-case-for-fuji-11-300x279.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"279\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-308\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The x100 fits perfectly<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The front pouch is a handy place to put the lens cover for extended periods as I am walking around.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_305\" style=\"width: 229px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/andyphoto.atug.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/thinktank-case-for-fuji-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-305\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-305 \" title=\"thinktank case for fuji x100 hold lens cover\" src=\"https:\/\/andyphoto.atug.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/thinktank-case-for-fuji-2-219x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-305\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The front pouch is a handy place to put the lens cover<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Often I slip the camera back into the case (the case is attached to my belt) without putting the lens cap on. &#8220;What !! &#8211; you say? &#8220;Well the inside of the case is soft and won&#8217;t scratch the lens. &#8220;And as it happens, the lens cap is still positioned approximately over the lens area &#8211; so the lens is still protected from accidental bumps. &#8220;How fortuitous!<\/p>\n<p>I bought it from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.borge.com.au\/think-tank-modular-pouch-p-15837.html\" target=\"_blank\">Borges<\/a>&#8216;in Australia. &#8220;Here is the official <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinktankphoto.com\/products\/modular-pouch-belt-pack.aspx\">US supplier&#8217;s page<\/a>. &#8220;A nice review of the case can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nikonjin.com\/forum\/showthread.php?tid=616\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>&#8220;(though that particular review is not x100 specific).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Fuji x100 camera is meant to be carried around everywhere &#8211; and for that you need to use the straps supplied, or get yourself a case. &#8220;The official leather case is nice, but I prefer something more discreet that I can carry on my belt under my jacket.
